having re read the write up in mendip underground and looked at the survey, and had a bit of a hunt round on the internet thing, ther eseems to bits of information missing, so can any one tell me about the dive lines in the western sections, and is there a better survey available which shows all the high level stuff in the eastern section?
now stand back and see this subject quickly go of at tangents nothing to do with the enquiry

That is purely a bibliography. You will have to use more old fashioned methods to actually get at the items.

Most BEC publications are online on their website and a significant proportion of UBSS ones are available via ours, other Mendip clubs are not that far advanced, I believe.

If you cannot find a particular item, it is probably in the UBSS Library and can be scanned for you but building works mean that its not available for the next couple of weeks.

Badger, look at the MNRC newsletter No. 46 Sep 19994 and No 49 June 1995. This has surveys of all the underwater passages although only a couple still have lines in(first and lowest blue hole)-and these are NOT in a safe condition. Also, the shaft down to -9m at the end of the lowest blue hole must not be entered-its ready to collapse!
Also be aware that as it's perculation water the lovely blueness turns to zero vis. instantly.

HTH, PM me if you want any more info, I've had a poke in all of them ;)

thanks jon, no worries about going into them, as of yet i am not in to cave diving, was more out of curiosity, more interested in finding out if there is a survey that includes all the passages in the eastern section as the one in mendip underground is not very clear, and the write up quite brief.

I believe we have a good quality survey at the Wessex. I will check next time I am there (y)
