Snow update

Sunday morning (5th Jan); we got the forecast snow overnight. A fair dollop at Clapham at least. The A65 looks to be moving fine but ungritted roads are a bit difficult. Probably not the best day to travel to the Dales for a caving trip if you don't have to. There's been drifting so higher level roads / lanes are probably off limits for vehicles.

I bet all the school children are wishing it had come 24 hours later. :ROFLMAO:

Daily Mail type "forecast" for the SE was Snowmageddon, deep drifting, too harsh even for polar bears, the world will stop spinning...

We had some brief snow overnight falling quicker than gritters could keep roads clear, which made my driving just past midnight unpleasant and slow but it soon rained above 0C and it's all gone.

A lot of water about though!

Much of the snow in the Clapham area has now gone, as it stayed above zero overnight.
Still plenty on the hill though. Rivers are up a bit on what they were before the snow event but not massively (as at early Monday morning).

Does anybody know what the state of the lane up to Bullpot Farm is like, or equally Leck Fell? I'm over in Kendal where the amount of snow received has been pretty minimal, and trying to interpolate between that and what the dales further east have had is a tricky one. I'm hoping to do an Easegill trip on Thursday, so if anybody heads up between now and then or hears anything, please let us know!
