Squeeze practice

Hi,

Out of curiosity, is there anywhere where a mate and I could go and have some fun in constrictions that aren't hours away from an entrance pitch?
Something that's committing, but you could be dragged out by your ankles if need be šŸ˜…

As per suggestion by Chris, Long Churn has the Cheese press and lots of other ā€œworm holesā€ that 100’s of small children get sent through.
Also you could head up ā€œNovember holeā€ I understand this is ā€œsnugā€.

Runscar and Thistle have some crawls that would be very testing for normal sized adults.

Grey Wife Hole has a 'Cheesepress' kind of squeeze within sight of daylight. Don't drag any stones in with you otherwise you'll be fooked. Don't ask....

Close to the Churns is Birthday Hole/Cave - quite interesting to get out of the far end if you're not a slim 5ft 4 woman. And at the top end of Great Douk, once you've come through the hole in the ceiling and are in the small chamber, instead of bearing L for the usual exit into Middle Washfold, find the wriggly tube on the R. You don't have to go all the way through Gt Douk, go in the Middle Washfold entrance.

Lower Sunset I think has some tightish bits.

It sure does. It could be ideal for your requirements. Lower Sunset has two entrances, not far apart. Once you've been from one to the other, and if you're game for more fun, the turn off towards Sunset proper is about half-way through. The last bit just before you pop out into the main passage was about on my limit for tightness.

If you find that easy, try Dry Gill (in dry weather).

Ah, thank you, I'd forgot about that one.
I'm sure I read a trip report once that described the squeezes in Sunset as disgusting 😬

It all depends on which caving area is local to you. Plenty of squeezes on the Mendips. :)

I'd echo what was said above about Churns/November Hole and just explore all the little passages.
Similarly, Wretched Rabbit, head down to Stop Pot and out via Depot 1.5 (is that right, top of head thinking, has Flashbang Crawl). Also near the climbs (on right going down) is a low (bedding?) connection to a parallel passage. Plenty of options to explore and not too far to be dragged out! If you get really keen right next door is New Cave (never been in it) but meant to be tight.

Tightest one I can think of is in daylight is the slot into Southerscales pot, though I will warn you it's vertical not horizonal, so you can't be dragged out by your ankles, but it's right on the surface.

Mistral connection through to Link? Easy to get to, safely horizontal for heel dragging, only a little bit damp. Felt very committing when I was shown it.

Railings and urban things. Dad had a survey on a house and they said these banisters are too big a small child could get through. He actually used them for squeezes 🤣

A tight twisty passage that's close to an entrance is The Snake from County Pot to Oxford Pot. I think it was the only way in to upper Easegill until County was opened up, and had a bit of a reputation (which is all I'm suggesting it on, I haven't done it)
