• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Thieves in Giants Hole

Had a tackle bag with fortunately very little in it (just a maillon and a crab) stolen from the bottom of Garlands pot in Giant's today. The people who took it weren't cavers as far as we could tell, they were in via ferrata gear and shorts. When we spoke to them in the entrance beforehand they said they were there quite a lot so I recommend keeping a close eye on gear there. Definitely wasn't an accident as they watched us enter the cave with it and it was at the bottom of the rope they'd watched us descend down.

Any idea what vehicle they were driving and parked in the car park?
just a generic silver car, bit annoyed I didn't pay attention to the make as I usually do out of curiosity but we were in a bit of a rush to get in the cave. figures the one time I don't pay attention I actually need the information. They were a group of four (?) men, probably around late 30s, early 40s.
