I must say I had underestimated the cruciverbial acumen of the caving community, so by all means make 'em tougher as Cap'n Chris suggests !

It could be widened to named locations within caves to give more of a challenge?

I am impressed with the clues. Some very abstruse ones.  Never been much good at crosswords but try this one.
