Recruited a new helper - she started "washing" the ropes, but had to be discouraged when the nibbling started

Saw a cave fish (pure white and about 6-8" long) about 3 hours into a cave.  :)

Did my first caving trip today after having my exploded appendix removed exactly four weeks ago - plenty of crawling, climbing and wriggling, and a 32m shaft to prussick up at the end. No leaks and no pain, and my intestines are hopefully more settled. Result.

Thanks once again to the NHS :)

Went into P8 this morning. Over the flats, dropped into stream passage after 1st cascade, Idiot’s Leap and the ‘boulder’. Across 1st wet pitch taking the high route, over ‘Bad Step’ climbed down to mainstream passage then up to Ben’s dig to just passed the iron ladder. Turned and came out. A good morning’s exercise.

After blowing away the lockdown cobwebs in JH yesterday, I’m having a fun day of prussiking induced pain from muscles that don’t seem to have been used for the past year.

The aged trio of Chipchase, Rose and Glanvill are off on further adventures today. We have caved together now for 55 years.

Took my kit to the local ford for a scrub after a great week-end underground.  Otter Saturday, then Huglith & Clive mine. Thank you NAMHO for organising.

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life waiting for us.

Washed our ‘new’ 40-m rope that someone gave us at NAMHO, saying ‘If you can be arsed to take it home and wash it, it’s yours; it’ll be OK, though it looks a bit* mucky, it’s new and this is only it’s second outing’.

*very

Cheers, Mike

Ordered some plugs and feathers from Amazon for a quiet job - and once again got sucked into the infernal "Prime" membership, despite my best efforts to avoid it.

 :wall:

Now I'll have all the mather of cancelling in yet again.  >:(

Must be somewhere better than Amazon to buy P&F from surely?
Sweet is the sound of the pouring rain,
And the stream that falls from hill to plain.
