Title: Réseau de la Dent de Crolles
Post by: langcliffe on June 25, 2018, 02:44:23 pm
Anybody wishing to play in the Réseau de la Dent de Crolles in the next couple of years should be aware that the Col du Coq road has collapsed on the St. Pierre de Chartreuse side, and will be closed for the foreseeable future. This can complicates the logistics.

Repair work on the col du Coq road is now scheduled to start in the Spring of 2019, but as yet there is no date for expected completion. See here (https://www.braemoor.co.uk/crolles/colducoq.shtml) for further details.

The latest news is that the funds have been raised for repairing the road, but work is unlikely to start until June. There is as yet no estimated completion date, but access to the col du Coq from St. Pierre de Chartreuse is likely to be possible later in the summer. See here (https://www.saintpierredechartreuse.fr/uploads/2551/la-lettre-avril-2019-vff.pdf) for the latest official information.

The Mayor has now indicated that the repairs will be completed this year, but a more specific date is not yet available. See here (https://www.saintpierredechartreuse.fr/uploads/2577/la-lettre-mai-2019.pdf) for the latest information.

It's amazing how long this has taken. Sounds like the Col du Coqup.

Not really - it's a commune road, and the commune just didn't have the resources to pay for it themselves, so they had to get some of the finance from other sources.  Last year was spent on doing just that, and this year it's been a matter of waiting for the conditions to be righ to start workt. It wasn't a trivial blockage. The landslide covered the road with 3,000 m³ of debris, and caused 50 metres of the road to be invaded by the Ruisseau de l’Orme. It is a reet mess.

Repairs started on June 10th. They will be completed this year, but probably not until the early autumn. This was the state of the action as of last Saturday. The river has been put back in its place, and the line of the road has been restored. The bank is being stabilized.

At last!! It appears that the rejuvenation required above the collapse wasn't as much as thought, and the road has now re-opened, so normal logistics have resumed for the Dent de Crolles through trips.  See here (https://www.saintpierredechartreuse.fr/uploads/2680/bulletin-semestriel-ete-2.pdf) for the latest information.
