Olympic Logo

What are you're thoughts - worth £400k?

I noticed that Sebastian Coe was promoting this logo like crazy - I wonder how much he is earning from the Olympics.

They have the cheek to remove funding from sports that are not in the Olympics!

Hughie, at least your version of the logo is more accurate.  ;)

Seriously, though, IIRC the BBC poll had dislike running at almost 90% - I wonder whether there will be frantic back-pedalling and the logo gets scrapped, especially now that it has been linked in the public eye with triggering epileptics?

If cavers designed a logo for the olympics, it would probably have a bat in it. This seems to be the one icon all cavers have to use in their logos.

My chum Burt would say that "If Petzl designed a logo for the Olympics it would probably include a solution to a problem no-one's invented yet".

not bothered either way about the logo, by 2012 no one will probaly remember the up roar from 2007.
my objection is the cost, its bit like car accidents, an insurance claim and the price doubles, government involvement and the price doubles, then see them dig big holes trying to justify cost. And we all know that by 2012 the olympic budget will be double what they say now

How about this one -

Both brilliant - your talents are wasted in agriculture!

In fact it was only a chance remark from my wife this morning that I realised that the random blobs in the logo are actually meant to say 2012, I hadn't noticed as I was too busy looking at the horribly strobing colours vaguely reminiscent of a late 1970's 16 colour video arcade game.

But that is nothing - I am utterly baffled as to the cost: £400K I understand - HTF can they run up a bill like that.

...it would also include a small plastic part that should really have been made of metal that breaks off at an inopportune moment and some word-free instructions that if you hold them upside down and follow them would lead to your death.

It would also have cost a lot more....

Or a crossed hammer and pick (with a bat and a helmet superimposed on them).

In a circle with stals and a ladder hanging down.

Maybe we ought to have a competition to design a non-passe caving logo (with a non-£400k prize).  Any offers for dragging caving logos into the 21st century?
