All good suggestions... but langcliffe has it. I still don't know how you do it!

I only know one shaft of that depth where one can straddle the top of the pitch in that way. The deviation on the smooth wall, with the water descending the crumbly wall confirmed it.

Anyway, I'll let someone else have a go. First come, first served.
 
I did 'guess' Buckhaw Brow Cave, from vague memories of a trip some 30 years ago. Was that correct?
Yes you're correct. It's the upper one of the two Buckhaw Brow Caves (the other one is directly below). You can see the road below that heads down towards Giggleswick.
