At the start of the canal, there are a number of drag trays / small boats for you to put your tackle bag in and tow behind you as you crawl down the long canal. Saves wear and tear on bags and certainly easy to pull.

Thought it was a blind cave trout (seen ‘em a few times in there but probably hallucinating)! The drag trays pre-date my visits by more than five decades. Have no shots but plenty of memories so please jump in.

I've seen white trout in Penyghent canal so you weren't hallucinating. I think I saw them elsewhere as well (Smeltmill Beck comes to mind).
