I took this photo of me whilst out training this morning, it was certainly atmospheric and at 4;30 am alone on the Moor, with the mist swirling all around more than a bit spooky.......

Some people have seen this photo and suggested I put it up here on UK CAVING, our favorite forum

I guess the relationship to caving is if our multiyear dig goes soon, it promises to be a "Biggy" and a corresponding level of fitness would be required for the ongoing exploration...... hence the serious training taking place......

Hope you enjoy the photo.

Richard.

Just back from an epic week in the Dales and Derbyshire  :beer2:

I kicked off with taking a group of WetWellies Caving clients on a very splashy trip in Swildons Hole. None of them had ever caved before. It was a Christmas present from 2018 and all 8 of them were from the same family - They all want to return. Job done I'd say  :smartass:

Then I headed straight up to the Dales where the weather had ruined all our cave diving plans but we adjusted and made some more.

Wonderful to see so many friends I've shamefully neglected over the last few years but the week really re-ignited my passion, especially for SRT. One comfy harness later (thanks to Inglesport) and I was back on the horse, daring to take some pitch shots under the expert tuition of Mr Burkey.

I also had a crack at some cave diving images using a Canon 550D and Sea and Sea RDX550D housing and fisheye lens, with 3 strobes and an Ikelite remote trigger.

So, without further a do, here is my set of three for this week  :halo:

It's not anywhere special, most calcite fluoresces, I just had the opportunity today thanks to others providing the UV torches.

More of Chunky's set on Facebook. The above looks even better as a higher res. image. Not at its best here.

I'd been discussing this image with a friend the other day, it was taken over a year ago in Shuttleworth Pot.

I managed 2 photos before my camera battery died (poor prep - very frustrating), one was super blurry as I adjusted the focus, this one was very dark as I sorted out light levels but some janky editing on Snapseed has recovered something serviceable to act as a demonstration.

One that I'd like to return and "better" one day when I'm tempted back underground.

Also a note FAO "Q" - the forum is happy with ".jpg" file photo extensions but not ".jpeg", I'm not sure if there's a technical reason for this.

Hi Topimo, fixed that. The forum should now allow .jpeg as well  ;D

Thanks.

One of the current owners of Singing River Mine, on her first caving trip, went into her mine.

House ( & therefore mine entrance) due to change hands mid December.
