Wanted - Loan/Hire of Kids kit
« on: May 27, 2019, 08:09:41 am »
Hi Peak peeps.

Just wondering if anyone out there has and is willing to loan/hire any kids oversuits/helmets/wellies etc.

We've had a bit of a disaster with our planned week in N.Wales (accommodation nightmare) and are now back home in Sheffield and scratching around looking for things to do with the kids.

I thought a bit of a Giants upper series trip might kill an afternoon but want the boys to enjoy it - thus proper kit is order of the day.

My boys are about 130cm and 150 cm tall. (11 and 13 years).

Any offers welcomed.

It will not help short term but for longer term and for those who do not know it already - some agricultural merchants sell boiler suits in kid's sizes. Usually branded for a tractor manufacturer but available in a range of sizes. The problem is that these merchants are closing down, becoming fewer and more widely spread.

Is Eyres at Brough mill still open?

They are, though I've not been in recently. There's also Torne Valley at Bakewell, and there are are agricultural merchants in Buxton and Darley Dale too. I have seen the child-size overalls for sale in the past but can't recall seeing any recently.
Dirty old mines need love too....
