Paul Deakin Photo Collection
« on: March 08, 2021, 01:18:30 pm »
Does anyone know if Pauls photo's are still accessible?

I'm looking for photos of "Lower Coombe Mine" which is near Snitterton. I think they were taken when he was still working in black and white.

John Barnatt was given a copy of the full collection, there was also talk about depositing copies in Historic England's photo archives but I don't know what came of that. However, assuming the mine was catalogued by Paul under that name then it should be possible to get hold of copies through John.
Dirty old mines need love too....

I just sent a PM to that effect, but you just beat me to posting here ;)

Actually, the index shows a 'Lower Comb' mine, listed in Derbyshire? 16 photos.
