On the theme of politicians or would be politicians engaging in pugilistic posturing ... I give you almost certainly not the next Mayor of London. Sound on for the complete experience.

From Facebook today:

Being a pedant, I would just like to point out that all beam axled Discoveries have the differentials offset to one side of the axle.  :smartass:

So it's probably a Toyota.

You are quite correct, but the body shell looks more Disco than Toyota based on my limited experience

I dont know whether its just me but every cartoon posted here taken from The Guardian basically says nothing to me.

I sit looking at them for several minutes but no wiser at the end.

Another planet?

You're supposed to sit in your Toyota Prius, look over the top of your glasses, rub your beard, wry smile, nod sagely then drive home and throw another sustainable log on the AGA ready to brew a cup of sustainably sourced fair-trade herbal tea.

You just don't fit the demographic Roy, sorry!

Ah, well, now, you see...erm...

Maybe I'll start sharing some from The Daily Mail just for balance!

I don't have a Toyota Prius, a beard or an AGA (am I missing out?) and I don't really like the cartoon but the subject seems pretty clear to me. In this case the actions depicted seem more than silly but not the picture.

Sorry. still lost.

maybe the "other planet" - quoting myself, was actually 'nail on the head'?
Current events would reinforce that.

I was not specifically referring to the last cartoon posted, but making a general observation. Re the last, I think middle east politics os something best avoided.

I was thinking just the same thing this morning. I find them rather grotesque, overtly political and not in the slightest bit funny.

Back on topic, how about this one:

The "Holiday" joke has triggered this.
I absolutely love to go away to mid Wales, spend a day underground, pick up a takeaway in the evening, and usually eat it on the prom at Aber sitting in the car and watching the girls go by.
Later I drive to secluded spot, get onto an air bed in the back of the Skody, and in the morning cook bacon and eggs outside on a WW2 pressure stove in great condition.

I was explaining this to a friend at one of the martial arts clubs, and he remarked that it was not his idea of a holiday.
I am not in the habit of boasting about my home, I think its rude, but my quick reply was that "If I want a four star hotel I just go home".
