Bernie's under new ownership!

Hi All

Dave Brook has agreed to buy Bernie's with the sale due to go through in March which of all things go according to plan is when we intend to open.

I'll be running the place and and making the transition from rope access monkey to cafe manager. I've spent the past month slowly moving in, cleaning (so much cleaning) and figuring out what need to be done to the place to make it a good operation.

As you may imagine there is a lot of work to do between now and then with getting the kitchen up to a decent standard to make good fry ups, loads of painting, as well as minor repairs to carry out on the whole building. Biggest job with be the roof, which needs some serious work so don't be surprised if you see scaffolding up not long after we open.

The plan is to bring it back to what it was, minus the gear shop, as a cavers spot with good coffee and food bread with loads of historic artifacts festooned around the walls and a complete survey wall. The fire will be lit for colder days and we hope to see you when we open.

All the Best

Kristian Brook
