For balance, I've only ever had lovely coffee there (flat white that actually tastes of coffeeInglesport
Everyone knows drinking coffee is to get the bowels moving before caving!People actually drink coffee for the taste? I thought it was just for waking you up and dunking biscuits into?
I believe there is a date decided for opening!!!Blimey, hard to please!
I'm very happy to see Bernie's on the return.
How is it all progressing?
Oh come on! You can't just leave it at that.I believe there is a date decided for opening!!!![]()
If my ageing memory serves me well, Bernie's under Steve's tenure ended in 2016, and it was taken over by a non-caving couple for a couple of years. It then changed hands a couple more times, before closing down until Kristian took it on. That would mean you were either writing your undergraduate dissertation when you were younger than 15 years old, or it wasn't the 'real' Bernie's you were sampling. The 'real' Bernie's had FAR less comfortable seating than Inglesport do -the slatted bench seats made your backside look like it had been barbequed, and the old school chairs weren't much better!I've had similar experiences next door unfortunately. There's one particular employee that makes a smashing flat white but when they're not in I always opt for tea.
Sounds like Bernie's is going to have better veggie/vegan options too, so that's a big plus. I hope they have comfier seats as well! The ones in Inglesport hurt my bum after a few hours. Maybe I should eat more chips to get more portable padding.
I wrote most of my undergrad dissertation in Bernie's and was very sad when they closed, I could never find a cafe up to the same standard in Ingleton. Really excited to be able to spend rainy days next to that stove again.
Mine too.I certainly hope so. The one I've been using for years definitely needs replacing.
