Win a tackle bag!

WIN A TACKLE BAG!!

The forum is really busy at the moment and we hope providing lots of entertainment during these difficult times.

Here at UKC HQ we've decided to run some competitions....

This photo (and many similar) was doing the rounds on social media and we'd like to see a caving equivalent!
(Photos to be taken in your house, garden or garage etc)

(Photo credit 'Climbers in quarantine' 📸 Zofia Gierczyk & Bartosz Okrasiński Climbing pr0n facebook page)

Post your entry on this thread - photo or video.

(How to post photos is here: https://ukcaving.com/board/index.php?topic=19799.0)

Winner to be chosen by YOU - the most number of likes by the closing date - 10pm, Sunday 5th April.

So, go get your caving kit on, the camera out and try not to get the house too muddy or broken - GOOD LUCK ;D

Newly discovered abandoned fossil series in suburban Skipton.
I shall name this ‘Rainbow Cloud Chamber’ after its profusion of multicolioured straw stalactites ..some up to 20cm long.
I can hear water pulsing occasionally beyond a boulder junk pile…however the way through looks precariously loose.
I will report on any new findings ;D

..After forcing a way past a Christmas decorations box and a precarious box of abandoned magazines of dubious content, I found a free climb down to an active level. The source of the pulsing was a perched sump..I've sent my wife in to investigate:-

Take a pontonniere and walk through the canals. If it’s wet and you are rigging leave it on to the bottom.

Its somewhat easier to hump 2-3 tackle bags if you can walk rather than make like a spiderman tribute act.
It’s noticeable that not many people in the UK have used one, let alone own one. Expe still sell them.
And yes, I handed mine over to the the deriggers when we met. Was very grateful after if I recall.

My lad Ben attempts to exit the barrel after the exercise ball is pushed in... He was in there about 20 minutes while we laughed... then he got his arms past the 'constriction' and worked out he could deflate it... clever boy... although 'idiot' according to his little sister.  The video is funnier - paste it here on Flickr

I've been putting some caver training videos together now I have a bit more spare time. Annoyingly I don't have a cave to film in or an appropriate cast of extras, so I have made some compromises. I have not been talking to him, honestly.

Emma’s garage pot - Grade 3
An awkward 1m down climb to a chamber. Hand line might be useful for some.
The chamber quickly degenerates to chokes at both ends.

Glad to make this discovery before the new northern caves comes out!

All that gear is quite unnecessary there.  The young lady showed clearly that Grass Sump is quite capable of being free-dived.

Nice, I have still yet to venture under my house, I know there is an underground to this house! If it's anything significant rather than a 2ft by 2ft space I may do another vid, if I can get in without being electrocuted that is.

I had a proper look today, right cowboy doing the wiring down there. No chance am I going down there, its a pity there appears to be several chambers under the house, and standing height in places by the looks of it. A few artefacts I could see too.
