My visit to both upstream and downstream passages was in the early 80s in a wetsuit rather than a furry/fleece.
Given the recent progress in Austwick Beck Head, is anyone planning to dive downstream Long Kin East again? Or Juniper Gulf or Nick Pot?

There's also a small Amazonian fish (probably apocryphal - and maybe the same as Roy's) which if you have a wee next to the Amazon, it'll swim up the actual stream and embed itself in your wotsit.

And as for hagfish.

Some info on that particular fish: http://www.bbc.co.uk/earth/story/20160104-does-the-candiru-fish-really-eat-human-penises

Never actually been up that inlet, maybe make a point of doing it on my next trip there. Though I recall it being rather wet to get to it?

I was so suspicious and paranoid about my wife having an affair, that we moved to the Shetland Islands. I couldn’t believe my luck when we still managed to keep the same window cleaner.

It wouldn’t surprise me; given what ‘God’s creatures’ get up to in their need to survive and replicate, nothing (much) would surprise me, even organisms that somehow burrow into the soles of your feet and get carried around your blood stream in order to reproduce inside you, to the extent of eating into your eyes from the inside out. I wonder what the Creationists would make of the sort of cruel critters that ‘God has created’?

Heh. We met a couple of urbexers coming up the incline at M**noff*r*n on Saturday. No helmets, and a couple of hand torches. Just did the 'first level going off on the right as you go down' - not sure what terminology for veins, chambers etc. is down there. Quite a bit of death potential where roofing tunnels break through into massive chambers below though. Should really post some photos of the mill now that AN is down.

The way the thread has gone I just have to mention the wee small fish that thrives in the Amazon delta.

Forget piranha, if you go waist deep it finds its way into your body to lay its eggs, you can imagine how it does this. Cant think what its called, by I would have my own name for it.

The bottom of Jockey Hole is about 30m vertically above the upstream inlet passages in Rift/Long Kin East.
That’s a significant vertical distance to dig if there is a connection from Jockey Hole to the upstream inlet.
Or alternatively the upstream inlet goes somewhere else to the NW.
Has anyone ever had a determined look at the upstream extremities?
