Spend a long time = PASS AGE
following stock = DOW
((for example = EG) in (flatfish = BRILL)) = BERGILL

I was a bit cheeky in using ?following? also to indicate that PASSAGE follows DOWBERGILL, but I guess you know that.

This is a description from the Cambrian Cave Registry, although the cave is actually 10 miles across the border in Herefordshire.

"There are several very small enlarged joints in an exposure of Aymestry (Silurian) Limestone, only negotiable for a few metres. One was extended in 1972 to a total of 135 metres. The cave consists of a series of tight interconnecting rifts, which are enlarged joints and run close to the surface. Draughts in the cave indicate connections with the surface. There are plentiful remains of calcite in the cave. Work by the HCC is continuing. HCC 1972."
