Wezzit?

You're a bit too far away there but very roughly the right sort of direction.
All the risings around Great Asby are autogenic (crystal clear "percolation" water). This one is almost certainly allogenic (fed by sinks).

It's like Turn Dub in that it's a large pool with lots of water welling up through alluvium in the valley bottom.

Sorry, nope.

Further clue; it's just within the area covered by the map on page 394 in the new Northern Caves Volume 3 but isn't included in the book.

Ah; dammit - I've given you a red herring; sorry. The name of this feature dues NOT include the word "Dub".
It contains the word "Lumb". That ought to help.

:ROFLMAO:

More clues needed folks?

A few miles south of Kirkby Stephen. To my knowledge no sinks have ever been tested to this resurgence, so I can't confirm which catchment it relates to.

I've walked the footpaths quite a lot round that bit of the Eden but never noticed the resurgence. From the map - is it Blea Pots Lumb? I have seen water sinking in Thringill Beck a little to the east so perhaps that's a potential feeder. There is a lot of limestone around there. Have you actually inspected the rising?

Yep, Blea Pots Lumb. Got permission and dived it a few years ago; the maximum depth of the pool is only 1.5 m, with water hurtling up through the pebbles and sand. Big outflow in wet conditions, when adjacent pools fill up and overflow too.

All yours Lankyman (and well done Langcliffe if you were right too).
