Lost Johns
Ireby Fell Caverns
Peak Cavern
P8
Giants Hole
Swildons Hole
Rod's Pot
Sludge Pit Hole
Dan Yr Ogof

Calf Holes to Browgill - an easy through trip, what's not to like?
I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me

Cave of the Lyre system Applecross Scotland
Mousegill Cave
Long Churn Caves
Jackdaw Hole.
Sodholegill Caves
Goyden Pot System
West Kingsdale system
Mossdale Caverns

Out of my own list of favorite caves that's all I can think of now..

If it were possible to include hypothetical caves I'd definitely include the Great Whernside master caves, as we spend enough time thinking, talking and visualizing them.....

Perhaps I missed it but nobody has mentioned Shatter or Withyhill Caves or Stoke Lane Slocker surely three of the best decorated caves on Mendip. Perhaps there is a bias towards more sporting trips.

Anything not under strict control by a committee/ company/ group

Well said, maxf.

My favourite caves:

Drws Cefn
Nunnery Entrance
Twll Du

Situated on open access land, no keys or permits required.
Open to all, just like the mountainside are on.
Simply turn up and go caving, the way it ought to be.

Of course, there is a controlling committee/ company/ group who would have it very much otherwise (there would be, wouldn't there?).

Will they succeed?

We shall see.

It's early days yet, but something I am working on with one of the UK's conservation bodies.  I doubt it will make its way to America though but you never know.

Please keep your UK favourites coming.  Thanks a lot
